Sita Ramam

Thiruchitrambalam

Directed by Mithran R Jawahar 2022 hit Tamil movie, Thiruchitrambalam stars Dhanush in the lead role with Nithiya Meen, Rashi Khanna, Prakash Raj, Bharathiraja, and Priya Bhavani Shankar. 

The movie revolves around an ordinary food delivery boy, Pazham, and his ever-so-interesting love life. Pazham falls in love with two women that end up with him getting his heart broken and cursing his fate, only to find out that his true love has been with him this whole time, his best friend, Shobhana. 

The movie was released on 18th August 2022 across the country and received much love from the audience. The movie was made with a budget of 30 crores, but it managed to join the 100-crore club with worldwide gross revenue of 104.7 Crores. Love Today

Directed by Pradeep Ranganathan, this romantic comedy revolves around two lovers and what happens when they swap their phones for a day. The film begins with Pradeep Ranganathan as Uthaman Pradeep, a support engineer, and Ivana as his love interest, Nikitha, a software developer. Their relationship is put to the test when Nikitha’s stern father orders them to trade phones for the day and claims that if they are still in love at the end of the day, he will give them his blessings to get married. When secrets are exposed, and hearts are broken, all hell breaks loose. You never know if the pair will pull through this obstacle or decide to split up, as the movie keeps you on the edge of your seat.

The majority of couples in this day and age may relate to this contemporary love story. The movie was released on 4th November 2022 in theatres across India and is 2 hours and 34 minutes long. 777 Charlie 

Directed by Kiranraj K., 777 Charlie garnered praise from critics and audiences alike. This heart-warming tale of an unbreakable bond between a stray Labrador dog and an ordinary factory worker won hearts with its deep and emotional storyline. This drama-comedy follows the adventures of a duo and makes people remember that a dog is indeed a man’s best friend. 777 Charlie brought on a very fresh approach to south Indian cinema by being a one-of-a-kind movie, a story that comes to life and connects to people at a more emotional level. 

With Rakshit Shetty in the lead role alongside Raj B. Shetty and Sangeetha Shetty, this movie was shot at various places across India and followed the friendship and adventures of Charlie, the dog, and Dharma. Charlie is suffering from Cancer, and Dharma takes it upon himself to fulfill Charlie’s wishes and make the most of the time he has left with her. The film became a worldwide sensation because of the audience’s unwavering devotion to the tale of a man and his closest buddy.

Karthikeya 2

Karthikeya 2 brings mystery and a feel of adventure for the moviegoers as it is jam-packed with sequences that will make you feel like an explorer yourself. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Karthikeya 2 is a sequel to the 2014 hit movie of the same name, Karthikeya. The movie stars Nikhil Siddhartha in the titular role alongside Anupama Parameswaran and legendary Bollywood actor Anupam Kher.

The movie was filmed at various locations across India and abroad but faced difficulty while shooting due to the Covid pandemic. Because of this, the movie took almost a year to complete and finally wrapped up its filming in March 2022.

The story revolves around Karthikeya in search of a mythological anklet that belonged to lord Krishna and is believed to have magical powers. It is thought that the anklet has the ability to put an end to the miseries of all humankind and become an object that peace in the chaotic society of the kalyuga.

During the release of Karthikeya 2, the director, Chandoo Mondeti, also expressed his intention of making Karthikeya 3 and turning the movie into a franchise. The Telugu superhit was released on 13th August 2022 and had a budget of 25 crores; owing to the hit release, it managed to garner 113.3 Crores gross revenue worldwide. Major

Directed by Sashi Kiran, Major is a biographical movie based on the life of Sandeep Unnikrishnan. Set in the backdrop of the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks, in this movie, you witness the truth unfold through the eyes of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who fought the terrorists with great bravery and was martyred in the attacks. The titular role is portrayed by Adivi Sesh, who worked alongside actors Prakash Raj, Shobhita Dhulipala, and Saiee Manjrekar. 

Major is one of the most critically acclaimed Telugu films of 2022 and received high regard and praise from the audience and critics alike.

The movie uses 2 languages for its dialogue delivery, Hindi and Telugu. The filming of the movie began in February 2020, but it experienced many setbacks during its shooting due to the Corona Virus Pandemic and the entire nation being on lockdown. 

The movie finally wrapped up in the late December of 2021 but couldn’t be released in theatres because of the ongoing pandemic restrictions. The movie was then released on 24th May 2022 in India, followed by its international release on 3rd June 2022. The movie is 2 hours and 26 minutes long and was made within a budget of 25 crores. Despite restrictions and other issues that followed the movie’s release, it still managed to be one of the highest-earning movies in the Telugu cinema of 2022. Vikram

The action blockbuster directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj stars the veteran actor Kamal Hassan in the lead role alongside co-actors Fahad Faasil, and Vijay Sethupathi bombed the cinemas on 3rd June 2022. 

The movie revolves around Special Agent Vikram, who fights against the deadly drug mafia lord Santhanam (played by Vijay Sethupathi) with the assistance of Amar, head of the black ops (Played by Fahad Faasil), and together they bring down the drug syndicate.

The covid pandemic was the major reason for its delay, and the movie went through tons of ups and downs during its filming days. The movie was scripted during the end of 2019 but didn’t see the light of day until 2021, when the filming started in July 2021. the primary took roughly eight months to wrap up the shooting in February 2022. At first, the movie was offered to Rajnikanth, but due to his other engagements and project, the role went on to Kamal Hassan, who also produced the film. 

This Tamil blockbuster is 2 hours and 54 minutes long and has an estimated budget of 115 Crores in the making. The movie went on to earn 424.5 Crores worldwide owing to its success. The film is supposed to have a sequel following the storyline sometime in the future, and Vikram, for now, can be viewed on Disney Hotstar.

Kantara

Directed by Rishab Shetty, this Kannada blockbuster stars Rishab Shetty himself, alongside Kishore Kumar G. and Achyuth Kumar in the lead roles. 

The narrative centers around the ancient tribal customs and devotion to Varaha, a manifestation of Lord Vishnu, among the community of Karnataka Forest tribal people. This action movie is about three groups staking claims to a piece of land and how it leads to a fight between the mythical and the real.

The movie was released on 30th September 2022 in theatres countrywide and is 2 hours and 30 minutes long. This movie exceeded expectations by grossing 393.3 crores globally on a meager 15 crores of funding.

RRR

SS Rajamouli is the brilliant mind behind the movie, which stars N.T. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan Teja, Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhatt in prominent parts.

Set in the backdrop of British-occupied India, the story revolves around two Indian revolutionaries, Rama Raju, an Indian cop serving the British Army, and Komaram Bheem. The story starts with the Komaram Bheem searching for a little girl, Malli, who was taken forcefully against her mother’s wishes by a British governor and his wife. And the manhunt that ensued led Rama Raju to search for Komaram Bheem and earn his rightful place in the British Army, leading to an unexpected friendship and alliance.

A vast 425 crores were spent on the production of this blockbuster Telugu movie, which topped the box office with a staggering worldwide total of 1131.1 crores. The movie was released on 25th March 2022 and is 3 hours long. RRR can now be streamed at Disney Hotstar.

KGF: Chapter 2

The much-awaited second installment of the KGF movie exceeded the audience’s expectations and impressed all moviegoers across the globe. The first installment of the movie, which came out in 2018, had left viewers on a cliffhanger, leaving them biting their nails as they await the sequel to the superhit movie that shredded the box office worldwide.
