The 2022 movie shook the nation with its powerful content and depiction of the events that unfolded in Kashmir during riots directed by Vivek Agnihotri. The multi-starrer movie stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakrabarty, Pallavi Joshi, Bhasha Sumbli, Darshan Kumar, and Chinmay Mandlekar.
The plot revolves around the lives of the Kashmiri Hindus that changed overnight and how they were forcefully killed or exiled from their lands. The real-life narrative of many families that lost their loved ones, their belongings, and very right to a peaceful living.

Drishyam2
Ajay Devgn is back with the crime thriller directed by Abhishek Pathak. The movie is the remake of the hit south Indian movie Drishyam2: The Resumption. Drishyam2 is a sequel to the 2015 hit, Drishyam. Apart from Ajay Devgn, the movie stars Tabu and Akshaye Khanna in prominent roles. The movie is still running successfully in theatres and has managed to grab the attention of the viewers.
The film is a sequel to the original and continues the narrative of Vijay Salgaonkar (played by Ajay Devgn), showing how IG Meera Deshmukh (played by Tabu) and IG Tarun Alhawat (played by Akshaye Khanna) attempt to set up a snare to arrest Vijay but are unable to gather any evidence against him.
Drishyam2, like its prequel, has managed to impress the audience and is running successfully. The movie was released on 18th November 2022 and is 2 hours and 20 minutes long. The movie had a budget of 65 Crores but has managed to earn 318.4 crores gross revenue in just a matter of couple weeks.
Bhool Bhulaiya 2
Directed by Anees Bazmee, it is a sequel to the 2007 hit psychological-comedy movie Bhool Bhulaiya. Despite having no connection to its predecessor, the sequel managed to receive the same positive feedback from audiences.
Bhool Bhulaiya stars Karthik Aryan in the lead role alongside Tabu and Kiara Advani. The story begins with the family members running away from the mansion and the spirit of Manjulika becoming imprisoned in the haveli. On a bus to Bhawanigarh 18 years later, Ruhaan Wadhwa (Karthik Aryan) and Reet Thakur (Kiara Advani) first meet, and Ruhaan becomes trapped in the tales and real ghosts of her family’s history. As a result of being coerced into playing the role of a ghost medium, Ruhaan reveals the truth and ushers in justice.

Badhaai Do
Directed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni, Badhaai Do is a sequel to the 2018 mega-blockbuster Badhaai Ho. Badhaii Do stars Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles. The story revolves around a gay cop and a lesbian teacher who get married to get their families off their backs.
A homosexual police officer named Shardul Thakur (played by Rajkummar Rao) works in a police station for women. Sumi (portrayed by Bhumi Pednekar) teaches physical education at a school. She files a complaint at the police station where Shardul works after being conned by a man she met on an online dating service. Realizing she is a lesbian, he suggests a strategy to help them avoid the demands their families are placing on them to be married and instead enter into a fictitious marriage so they may continue with their separate relationships. However, trouble keeps following them since their family won’t leave them alone.
The movie was released on 11th February 2022 and is 2 hours and 27 minutes long. The movie managed to earn 28.5 Crores in gross revenue worldwide. The movie is now available on Netflix for viewing.
Gangubai Kathiawadi
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Gangubai Kathiawadi is a biopic of Ganga Jagjivandas Kathiawadi. The movie is set in the backdrop of a brothel where the young 16-year-old Gangubai is sold off by her lover. The movie stars Alia Bhatt in the lead role alongside Ajay Devgn and Shantanu Maheshwari.
The movie starts with Gangubai (played by Alia Bhatt) narrating her tale. Daughter of a big family, Ganga aspired to be a Bollywood actress. She ran away with her boyfriend to Mumbai, where he sold her to a brothel for a mere Rs. 1000 at Kathiawad. But Ganga is determined not to let this break her down. After the death of the current owner of the brothel, Gangu takes the reins in her hands and goes on to become a prominent political figure. Gangubai goes on to meet the then Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, to save Kathiawad and attempts to legalize prostitution. Although she fails to do the latter, she is still able to save Kathiawad from demolition.
The movie was released on 25th February 2022 and is 2 hours and 34 minutes long. The movie witnessed a strong performance from Alia Bhatt and got positive feedback from audiences and critics. The movie was made with a budget of 125 crores and managed to secure 203.9 crores worldwide. The movie is now available on Netflix.
Dasvi
Dasvi is the debut movie of director Tushar Jalota, and it stars Abhishek Bachchan, Nimrit Kaur, and Yami Gautam in the lead roles. Set in a political backdrop, this drama-comedy revolves around the life of Ganga Ram Chaudhary, the Chief Minister of Harit Pradesh.
In this story, Ganga Ram Chaudhary (played by Abhishek Bachchan) is convicted by the law for a scam and has to serve a term in jail. He appoints his wife, Bimla Devi (played by Nimrit Kaur), to manage the affairs of the state and appoints him as the managing Chief Minister of Harit Pradesh. Furthermore, in jail, he locks horns with Superintendent Jyoti Deswal (played by Yami Gautam), who mocks his lack of education.
Ganga Ram Chaudhary, an 8th-grade drop-out, then takes up studying in prison to complete his 10th-grade education. On the political front, in the meantime, his wife develops a hungry desire for the permanent job of Chief Minister and works to make his life in prison as tricky as she can. But with support from others, he succeeds in the exam and even in the elections.
The movie was released on 7th April 2022 and was showered with appreciation by the audiences owing to its unique storyline and the performances of the actors. It was released on the OTT platform Netflix and Jio Cinema and had a budget of 30 Crores and managed to earn far more than that by selling the movie rights to Netflix and Jio Cinema.

Thursday is a revenge thriller story of a play school teacher, Naina Jaiswal, who takes 16 children, hostage at the Little Dots playschool. Making several demands from the authorities, and causing a national uproar, to find and punish people who raped her when she was 16 years old. Directed by Behzad Khambata, A Thursday stars Yami Gautam in the lead role alongside actors Neha Dhupia, Dimple Kapadia, Atul Kulkarni, and Karanvir Sharma.
A Thursday was well-liked by critics and audiences alike, and Yami Gautam was praised for bringing life to her character on screen. It was released on 17th February 2022 on the OTT platform of Disney+ Hotstar and is 2 hours and 8 minutes long.
Aye Zindagi
Aye Zindagi is a small-budget, real-life drama-based movie directed by Anirban Bose. The movie stars Satyajeet Dubey, Revathy, and Mrinmayee Godbole. The movie shoot was completed within a period of 27 days.
It is the story of Vinay Chawla, a 28-year-old who suffers from liver Cirrhosis and forms a friendship with hospital grief counselor Revathy who helps him renew his hope and optimism in life and pushes him to trust in the beauty of compassion and take a chance with life again.
The movie touched the hearts of all who went to watch it in theatres. With a praiseworthy performance of all cast and crew, the movie managed to capture the attention and deliver the essence of the message beautifully and deliver it to the audience. Jugjugg Jeeyo
Jugjugg Jeeyo is a family dramedy movie directed by Raj Mehta and starring Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Manish Paul, and Prajakta Kohli. Jugjugg Jeeyo portrays the struggles of couples after marriage. Two couples are the center of the tale, and it follows how, after reaching a breaking point in their marriage, they own their errors and take action to mend their relationship.
Jugjugg Jeeyo covers the narrative of the couple Kuku-Naina and Kuku’s parents, Bheem-Gita, as well as the complications that arise during his sisters’ wedding when both spouses apply for divorce.
