How many Google Search Console accounts can we use for multiple websites?
In Google Search Console, there is no strict limit on the number of accounts one can use; however, there are limits on the number of properties that an account can have. A single Google account can manage multiple websites in Google Search Console. Each website is set up as a separate property within the Google Search Console account. Here are some guidelines:
- Multiple Properties Under One Account: You can add and verify multiple websites (properties) under a single Google Search Console account. This is convenient for managing several sites that you own or control.
- User Management: You can add other users to your Google Search Console properties, and they can be granted different levels of access (owner, full, or restricted) depending on what level of control you wish to give them.
- Organization of Properties: If you have a large number of websites, you can use the domain properties feature, which represents all the subdomains and protocols for a given domain.
- Property Sets (Deprecated): Previously, Google Search Console had a feature called “property sets” which allowed users to group multiple properties together for consolidated reporting. This feature has been deprecated in favor of the domain properties.
- Limits: While there’s no publicized limit on the number of properties you can add to a Google Search Console account, practical limits are usually dictated by manageability. If you are managing a very large number of websites, it may be practical to segment them across different Google accounts for organizational purposes.
If you are an agency or an individual managing multiple client websites, you can either have each client’s website verified under their own Google account and have them grant you access, or you can manage all of them under your Google account, depending on the agreement with your clients.
It’s important to abide by Google’s terms of service and ensure that you have the right to add and manage the properties that you are including in your Google Search Console account.
